Buy cashmere fabric by the yard when you want control over weight—loftier knits for easy sweaters and wraps; tighter weaves or blends for a neat jacket, skirt, or soft tailoring. It behaves best with gentle habits: cool water, very little soap, no wringing, dry flat. Fold, don’t hang, and give pieces a day to rest so the loft returns.
